Mark D. Heibel, M.D.

Raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and a graduate of Lincoln Pius X Central High School, Mark D. Heibel, M.D. graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University. He then attended the Creighton University School of Medicine, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Medicine.

Following graduation, he trained in dermatology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he completed training as Chief Resident. After the completion of the American Board of Dermatology certification, he served as the Chief of Dermatology at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before returning to Lincoln to begin private practice in 1996.

Dr. Heibel is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs surgery. He certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Ann Sampson, APRN

Ann began working with Dr. Mark Heibel in August of 1998 as an RN and continued there for several years.

Through the many years of nursing not only did she work in dermatology, but also in wound care, medical-surgical and orthopedic care, in-home elder care, Alzheimer’s care, Ventilator and Brain Trauma units in Madonna, and Nephrology peritoneal dialysis.

She obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nursing through Bryan Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree through Nebraska Wesleyan. She continued on to receive her Master’s of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner training through the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2009.

Once she obtained her APRN degree, she worked in family practice and then the last 10 years for Creighton Dermatology (AKA CHI). Her passion has always been with Dermatology and felt very fortunate and grateful to be welcomed back to work with Dr. Heibel and his group in December 2021.

Outside of work, Ann enjoys family time, her animals and the outdoors.

Nick Jeffries, PA-C

Following graduation from the Union College Physician Assistant program in May of 2022, Nick accepted a position at Heibel Dermatology and began working in July.

Nick grew up in Altoona, Iowa before continuing his undergraduate education at William Penn University on a basketball scholarship where he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hunting, and watching sports.

Nick is a member of the Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
